An exterior hydrophobic silicon paint with water beading effect has the advantages of:
staying cleaner than other paints because dirt sticks less and the raindrops don’t wet but are rolling down the surface taking dirt with them.
having less moss growth and algae because the surface stays dryer through the beading effect and a very low water absorption (measured by a low w24-value)
keeping the wall breathable and the mineral building materials intact because hydrophobic silicon paints with water beading effect are functioning similar to a Gore-Tex jacked letting water vapour from inside the wall penetrate through the paint and at the same time keeping a dryer surface during rain.
The façade protection theory includes 3 important values:
Low water absorption (measured by a low w24-value)
High water vapour permeability (measured by a low sd-value)
High contact angle
An exterior hydrophobic silicon paint with water beading effect formulated with Aldepol SAC 930 guarantees an excellent performance in these 3 values.
What makes the beading effect?
If you look at the hydrophobic silicon paint with water beading effect, the effect is there because of the performance of the special binder that, among other qualities, makes the paint hydrophobic and also because of a special structure of the pigments. A 6000 times magnified picture of the surface of the paint shows big and small pigments that form a structure like mountains and valleys. Unlike a wax that lies on top of the paint and once washed of is gone, the beading effect with Aldepol SAC 930 is permanent. In fact it is getting better and better through weathering.
